Recipe type: Side
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 1 cup
The light, cucumber-y flavor of the borage leaves plus green onions (and a bit of onion or shallot) is perfectly paired with cream cheese to create a delectable spread that goes nicely on crackers or squares of brown bread.
  • A handful of borage leaves
  • ¼ cup (ish) green onions
  • ¼ cup (ish) chopped onion or shallot
  • One package cream cheese
  • 1-2 Tbsp. milk or cream (optional)
  • Crackers or brown bread
  1. Put the borage leaves, onion greens, and onion/shallot in a food processor. Whiz the food processor until they're finely chopped.
  2. Fold the chopped mixture into the cream cheese. Add milk or cream a little at a time, if necessary, until you get a spreadable consistency.
  3. Spread on crackers or squares of brown bread, imagine you're at a garden party in England, make yourself a cup of tea, and enjoy. :)
